6. What is the lead time for your products?
Please note the majority of our products are handmade and finished. Smaller sized orders have a standard lead time of 6-8 weeks. Larger projects have a typical lead time of 16-20 weeks. We try to accommodate all requests for rush orders as best as possible. Please plan accordingly when ordering.

7. Will you install the hardware that I purchase?
We do not remove/install hardware ourselves. However, we can refer you to a list of local private contractors with whom you can deal directly.

8. I am going to send you hardware to be restored. What information do you need from me?
We ask that you bag separately all parts of the individual hardware items, labeling the location with a door/window number. This reduces confusion when it comes to reinstalling the hardware. Also, we ask that you include door thickness (exact), door handing and any special instructions, questions or concerns.

9. What is original hardware?
We refer to original hardware as authentic 18th and 19th century hardware crafted by English, German, Dutch and American blacksmiths and locksmiths. Very early locks, latches and hinges were made of wrought iron. In the mid 1800's many items, particularly box locks, were made of cast iron. Many of the beautiful homes and historic sites we are privileged to work on have original hardware. Not only are we able to restore this hardware, but, in most cases we can match or complement pieces thus maintaining the authenticity of the project. Many of our homeowners have a combination of original, authentic reproduction, and new hardware throughout their homes. Orignal hardware is available to view and purchase in our showroom.
